RLE Millage is set by the Legislature. The School Board must levy the required amount.
In 2008, Collier County voters approved a referendum allowing the district to reduce Capital Outlay Millage by .25 Mills and Levy the Millage for operating purposes. This is a shift in millage and does not increase the total millage levy, thus it does not increase or decrease overall tax collections.
