IMPORTING DATA SETS
FEATURE DESCRIPTION December 2013
INTRODUCTION When capturing an SAP ERP testing scenario with Panaya, the business process will naturally include many different parameters and data that will be recorded as part of the original scenario. When it comes to executing this scenario there may be a requirement to perform the test in a different environment or with different input data from what was originally captured. In order to support these changing parameters, you can use Panaya’s Testing Data Sets to define a range of data that can be used when executing the test. In order to add multiple data sets simultaneously, you can export the existing sets to Excel, and then edit/add additional data sets. The updated Excel file can then be imported back into Panaya for regular use.
An example of the exported Excel file can be seen below.
Only the “white” cells should be edited
The field columns appear as defined in the parameter selection window in the application. If you would like to add a field to the data set, go to the Parameter Selection window, add the field, and then reexport the data sets.
The Data Set ID field is a technical ID used to identify the data set and should not be edited.
In order to remove a data set from the application, you can remove the entire row.
When re-importing the excel file, the existing Data Sets will be overwritten according to the Data set ID.
