ohn was born on April 21, 1939, in Rock Island,
IL, the son of John A. and Daisy Walston Nelson, Sr. He married Carol Jean Bull on March 14, 1959 in Rock Island, IL. She preceded him in death in May, 2015. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1957. John was a printer at Desaulniers for 37 years. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, and watching the Cubs, golf, and westerns. He was on a bowling league for many years and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years. Survivors include his daughter, Stacey (Troy) Larson, Moline; grandchildren, Kevin (Lea) Kaskadden, Davenport, Courtney Rice, Silvis, McKae Larson, Moline, and Brock Larson, Moline; great-grandchildren Jaliyah, Shelby, & Peyton; brother, Reynold (Betty) Nelson; sisters, JoAnn Bushert, Nancy Nesbitt, and Jane Puscas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kevin J Nelson; and daughter, Kathy J. Nelson Rice.
