Sam was born on February 14, 1929, at home in

East Moline, IL, the son of Emil and Rose Tomsic Kupresin. He married Marilyn Miller on April 1, 1951, and they continued their wonderful marriage for 65 years. He was the Vice President for Allied Construction. Sam was a veteran, having proudly served in the 25th Infantry Division and 14th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Moline. He enjoyed playing golf at Short Hills Country Club and traveling with his family. He was a member of the SNF Serbian Lodge St. Luke’s 129, East Moline. Marilyn was the love of his life, as were his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kupresin; son, Rear Admiral (ret.) Sam H. (Patty) Kupresin; grandchildren, Sam P. (Nikki) Kupresin, and Kara D. (Derek) Dlouhy; sister, Rosemary; brother-in-law, Ely Grubisich; sister-in-law, Stella Kupresin; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Rose Kupresin; brother, Nick Kupresin; sister, Betty Ann Grubisich.
