Teresa Workman trying out the new NEAT desktop scanner
Head Start Purchases Some “NEAT” Stuff In our on-going effort to “go green”, Head Start has purchased NEAT desktop scanners for all classrooms and Managers. Instead of making copies and sending documents via snail mail, we can now scan the document and email to whoever needs the document. We can also attach the file in our ChildPlus database. If a parent brings an immunization record in to the classroom, the teacher can scan the document, log in to ChildPlus, attach the document in the child’s file, and hand the document back to the parent. This will maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, plus it will be good for the environment! I have already had several positive comments about the NEAT scanners. Chuck Coulter wrote: “The scanners are sooooo cool. This will really change how we operate here. I just approved a leave request for a staff member 12 miles away in less than 30 seconds and now she has my approved 71 so I don't have to keep track of it, we both have a paper backup, and it's on yahoo in case we lose our hard copies.” The scanners are super easy to use and as one of my unnamed sources said, “If Sandy Bonham can figure it out, anyone can”. =)

INCA INFORMER
JOHNSTON COUNTY JAMM OFFICE By Vickie Dewitt
As I begin training for my new position as Route Supervisor, I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and support that I have received. I hope everyone will bear with me as I stumble through each day. I look forward to working with everyone at JAMM for many years to come. The entire crew is looking forward to having the office painted next week, and anticipating the other new changes we will be implementing to improve the appearance of our office. I would like to welcome a new flex driver to our Johnston County JAMM family. Erica Martin has been with us for a few weeks now. We are very proud and excited to have her. She is a great asset to our operation. Thanks, Vicki
