In that stretch Bodenheimer has 86 catches for 846 yards and three touchdowns. • Vintavious Cooper’s 39-yard rush to set up the first touchdown was the longest of his career and the longest run for ECU on a running play this season ... The run was the longest recorded by the Pirates since Torrance Hunt’s 56-yard carry against Central Florida (11/19/11) last season ... Cooper, who had a 36-yard rush against North Carolina last week, has now broke a 35 or more yard carry in each of the last two games ... Cooper led the team in rushing for the fourth consecutive game and reached 151 yards rushing ... He is the first ECU back to top the century mark since Hunt’s 100 against Central Florida last season ... His rushing total is the most for an ECU back since Reggie Bullock ran for 169 yards against UAB last season (9/24/11). • Shane Carden’s six-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was his second of the season (eight-yard TD run against Southern Miss) and the third rushing score by an ECU quarterback this season (Rio Johnson - six-yard TD run against Appalachian State). • Carden’s scored a second rushing touchdown from eight-yards out in the third quarter ... The last ECU quarterback with two rushing scores in a game was Dominique Davis against Tulane (10/29/11) ... Carden ran for a career-high 63 yards in the game for the Pirates. • Freshman Jabril Solomon’s 40-yard catch off the pass from Carden in the second quarter represented the longest of Hemingway, S.C. native’s career ... His previous long catch accounted for 20 yards against South Carolina ... His catch was the second longest reception by an ECU receiver this season ... Solomon’s catch also represents ECU’s fifth 30+-yard catch of the season (Justin Hardy - 55-yard reception vs. Southern Miss; Justin Hardy - 34-yard reception vs. South Carolina; Andrew Bodenheimer - 32-yard reception vs. Southern Miss and Justin Jones - 32-yard reception vs. Appalachian State) • Carden was intercepted by Shane Huhn on the first play after an hour and 20 minute lightning delay in the second quarter... The interception was the first time Carden had been intercepted since the South Carolina contest (9/15) a stretch that covered 91 passing attempts ...Carden second interception of the game (picked off by Wesley Miller) and third of the season came only three passing attempts later ... The fumble recovery was the first in the career of the junior defensive lineman and the first turnover forced by ECU’s defense in the game. • Derrell Johnson’s sack for a loss of three-yards in the third quarter was ECU’s first sack of the game ... The sack recorded was the first of the season for Johnson and his first sack since he brought down the Tulane quarterback last season ... The junior outside linebacker now has five career sacks. • Chip Thompson’s interception in the fourth quarter was his first in a Pirate uniform and the second turnover forced by the ECU defense in the game ... Thompson’s picked off is second pass of the quarter later in the game ... With his second pick he became the first ECU defender to record a pair of interceptions in a game since Van Eskridge had two against Houston during the 2009 season (12/5/09) - 31 games ago • Cooper’s 24-yard rushing touchdown was the first rushing touchdown scored by ECU by someone other than the two quarterbacks this season. • Adonis Armstrong picked off the first pass of his career late in the fourth quarter and returned it for 29 yards. The Pirates increased the team’s C-USA home record with the win to 36-21 and have won 14 of the last 16 Conference USA home contest since joining the conference in 2007. • UTEP scored first in the game as Nick Lamaison hit Jordan Leslie on a two-yard pass on the Miners’ second possession in the first quarter ... With the touchdown by UTEP in the first quarter, ECU continued the trend of spotting the opposition early points and have not scored first since the UTEP game last season (11/12/11) ...
