Dear Parent/Guardian REAL Learning Week 29 June to 3 July 2015 – Horse Riding and Stable Management We are delighted to inform you that your child has chosen to take part in the “Horse Riding and Stable Management” project during the REAL Learning Week. The cost of this project is £75 and students will learn how to care for a horse including grooming, mucking out, tack equipment and feeding. They will also be riding at least once a day and be taught by a qualified instructor. We hope to be at a level to play some Gymkhana games at the end of the week. We will be spending the entire week off site at Little Cophall Riding School, Polegate, East Sussex, BN26 6RF and students will need to be dropped off at the stables for 9.30am and collected from the stables at 2.30pm. Every day, students will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink as there are no facilities at the stables to purchase food or drinks. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals a packed lunch can be provided, please indicate on the reply slip below. Students should wear old clothing as they are likely to get dirty, jeans are not appropriate, and footwear needs to have a small solid heel, preferably Chelsea boots. Students without the appropriate footwear will be unable to ride. Depending on the weather, sun cream and waterproofs are advisable throughout the week. To confirm your agreement for your child to take part in this project please complete the reply slip below and return it together with your payment to either reception before 8.30am or the pay station during tutor time by Friday 19 June 2015. (Please make cheques payable to The Causeway School) Students without a completed reply slip and Annual Consent Form will not be able to attend the project. Please tick to confirm medical details and emergency contact details submitted on the Annual Consent Form for School Trips are correct. If your details require updating, please tick the box below or download a further copy from our website and return it to the school as soon as possible. Please give my child an Annual Consent Form as I need to update details. Please provide a Free School Meal Packed Lunch.
