HC/ Harvest

Jesus washes the disciples’ feet John 13:1-17

We’ve chosen the phrase Highfield Church: Growing in Grace, to sum up what we’re about as a church. Our sermons this autumn explore what this means.

At each of our Sunday services we seek to bring the Bible to life with relevant teaching, in a context of thoughtful prayer and passionate worship. Most talks are recorded and may be downloaded  At 8am we alternate traditional and contemporary liturgy for Holy Communion.  At 9.15am we start with child-friendly praise and then our children and youth have their own groups.  At 11am we choose a more traditional style led by our choir and organist.  At 6.30pm our worship is informal in a café style context.

Our morning services focus on an essential theology of grace and its implications, working through Romans 1-8. Our aim is to build within us a biblical worldview founded on grace. Our evening services tackle grace from a different perspective. Although Jesus never used the word grace himself, we’ll be looking at how he taught grace in his parables and practised grace with those he met. Our hope is that God uses these series to further root and establish us and our life together in his amazing grace. Mike Archer
