Interim Chapel Fields Chat Editors: Mrs Rogers, Mrs Chakmak, Miss Hufford
JUNE 2016 Dear Parents Diary dates
[Subject to change] 8 July 2016 Summer Fair 11 July 2016 5R Class Assembly 19 July 2016 Year 6 Leavers’ Party 20 July 2016 Prize Giving 20 July 2016 Year 6 Leavers’ Performance Friday 22 July 2016 Term ends 3pm
This will be our last 'interim' chat before the big end of term newsletter - hardly seems possible! We had our Games Day on Friday, and this counts towards our PE Kite Mark. Thank you so much to all those parents who complimented us on the event - very much appreciated. It was a fairly informal morning, and I think the children enjoyed socialising as much as they did completing the events! It was a pleasure seeing them enjoy themselves so much, and thankfully the weather was kind to us, apart from an isolated shower. Year 6 are busy rehearsing for their Leavers’ Concert, there are still school trips to take place, and the Olympics to think about! We have Prize Day, French Day, Edgbaston Cricket Festival, Summer Fun Day, Leavers’ Disco, Reports, SATS results, Governors’ meetings, Daylesford Induction Day, and it seems we are going at the speed of a steam train! Thanks to all those parents who continue to help and support us on school trips and in school, and thank you all for your support on Friday. Here's hoping the steam train makes it to the end of the line on Friday July 22nd! Regards Mrs N Rogers Head Teacher
Child absence from school: would all parents/carers kindly ensure they contact the school by 8.40am EVERY day their child is absent from school. This forms part of our Safeguarding Policy and will prevent us from having to report your child as a missing person to the relevant Education Department.
LOST PROPERTY We currently have a lost property mountain in school! Please feel free to come and have a look for any lost items before or after school. Please note, any items that are not claimed by Friday 8 July will be recycled. Would ALL parents/carers kindly ensure, if you have made alternative arrangements for your child to be collected from school, YOU make the school office aware. Many thanks. Telephone calls - can we kindly remind parents/carers that, if you receive a missed call from the school, you check to see if a voicemail has been left and by whom. This will help both parents and school to identify who left the message. Passports: we are very sorry but we are unable to countersign any passport application requests owing to the personal information required, plus various other factors including time and resources. FULL PE KIT – there are still a number of children not bringing their full PE kits into school on a Monday. Please ensure that all items are sent in with your child, clearly named, every Monday and left in school until the end of the week. Please note your child requires both trainers and pumps. Should you have any concerns or queries, please contact the school office. Mobile phones – please remember that, if your child needs to bring a mobile phone to school, you must contact the office and request a form which needs to be completed and returned to Mrs Rogers for authorisation. School Letters. All school letters are sent on Parentmail or, if you have not requested to go on Parentmail, your child should have collected a hard copy of the letter from their class teacher. We constantly receive communication from parents to say they did not know of an event that was/is going on in school. Therefore, can we kindly ask parents/carers to regularly check our website for school letters/updates. Spares are also available in Reception.
INFORMATION AND REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
Please remember to call the School office by 8.40am EVERY day your child is absent.
Please note there is no playground supervision until 8.30am each day.
If you need to pass information to your child’s teacher, can you please send in a letter or contact the School office by e-mail or telephone.
There have been a number of parents wishing to see their child's teacher before or after school. Please note that appointments should be made whenever parents require them as teachers have before/after school clubs or meetings to attend. You can request an appointment by contacting the School office. Appointments also need to be made to see Mrs Rogers or Mrs Gray please.
Please can all parents give a copy of the appointment letter or card to the School office should your child need to attend an outside appointment before or during school time.
Would all parents ensure NO NUTS are brought into School at any time. This includes peanut butter sandwiches. Also, please note that, sadly, we cannot allow any sweets for the class when pupils are celebrating their birthdays.
Any parents arriving late at the end of the school day should walk to the office to collect their child for safeguarding reasons please.
If you are attending School with your child for a reading quiz, please remember to sign in by 8.30am.
It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure all medicines kept in School are up-to-date. Inhalers need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure they are working correctly and are in-date. School also needs to be made aware of any changing medical conditions your child may have.
Would all parents kindly ensure their child’s PE kit is brought into School every Monday and taken home every Friday.
Can all parents please ensure their child brings a WATER BOTTLE into school every day.
Would all parents please ensure that any reading books taken from the School library are returned in order for all pupils to have on-going access to a wide range of books to suit all their interests.
Please note that School will no longer be sending reminders for School trips as these can be found on the School website to download.
Many thanks.
Can we kindly ask ALL parents to ensure that, if you change any contact details, the office is advised. We are constantly trying to contact parents whose details have not been updated. Once you inform us of a change, we will send a data collection sheet to you to confirm the change and ask if you can check, sign and return it to the school office immediately.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers – your help is always so appreciated.
