Welcome to the first 'Chat' of the year. We have got through January so far without any snow! If you did not receive our 'snow advice' letter please could you kindly ensure you get one from the school office? We do check the playground on frosty mornings to check whether it is safe for the children, and if it is not we bring them straight into the hall. If we do have snow, but school is not closed, please ensure your child brings a pair of wellington boots into school, then he/she will be allowed out to play in the snow. We have already had some school trips this term - Year 3 have been to Think Tank, and were beautifully behaved! Well done Year 3. Mrs Priddey and Mr Gunchala have settled in really well, and are already part of our team. Thanks to all parents for your continuing support. Please remember Penny is usually on the gate before and after school if you need to pass on any messages, or have a short chat about any matters relating to your child. Regards Mrs Rogers
Head Teacher
Inhalers Please ensure, if your child needs an inhaler, he/she also has a spacer in school to use Regards with it. These can be obtained, for free, via your child’s doctor. Many thanks.
Mrs N Fund Rogers School Please don’t forget – the School Fund of £10 per family is now on ParentPay so we would Head Teacher appreciate your paying it as soon as you are able. Many thanks. If your child attends a before/after school club which is run by an external organiser, ALL queries need to be addressed with the club staff and not the school. Thank you.
Can we ask all parents to take a regular look at our school website where you will find the majority of relevant information and you can also read/download any school letters. Would ALL parents kindly ensure, if you have made alternative arrangements for your child to be collected from school, YOU make the school office aware. Many thanks. Can we kindly remind parents that, if you receive a missed call from the school, you first check to see if a voicemail has been left and by whom. This will help both parents and school to identify who left the call.
We are very sorry but we are unable to countersign any Passport application requests owing to the personal information required plus various other factors including time and resources. In order to keep all of our children and our local community members safe, parents should never park across the driveway leading to School nor on the zig-zag lines either side of the crossing, no matter how short a time they are there for. Traffic enforcement officers are regularly patrolling the area so, in order to avoid a fine, kindly park in legal areas away from the immediate entrance to school.
Mrs Rogers
Please also use the roundabout a few metres up the road to turn vehicles around, in order to avoid causing disruption to traffic and danger to our children by turning near the crossing. Thank you.
INFORMATION AND REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
Please remember to call the School office by 8.40am EVERY day your child is absent.
Please note there is no playground supervision until 8.30am each day.
If you need to pass information to your child’s teacher, can you please send in a letter or contact the School office by e-mail or telephone.
There have been a number of parents wishing to see their child's teacher before or after school. Please note that appointments should be made whenever parents require them as teachers have before/after school clubs or meetings to attend. You can request an appointment by contacting the School office. Appointments also need to be made to see Mrs Rogers or Mrs Gray please.
Please can all parents give a copy of the appointment letter or card to the School office should your child need to attend an outside appointment before or during school time.
Would all parents ensure NO NUTS are brought into School at any time. This includes peanut butter sandwiches. Also, please note that, sadly, we cannot allow any sweets for the class when pupils are celebrating their birthdays.
Any parents arriving late at the end of the school day should walk to the office to collect their child for safeguarding reasons please.
If you are attending School with your child for a reading quiz, please remember to sign in by 8.30am.
It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure all medicines kept in School are up-to-date. Inhalers need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure they are working correctly and are in-date. School also needs to be made aware of any changing medical conditions your child may have.
Would all parents kindly ensure their child’s PE kit is brought into School every Monday and taken home every Friday.
Can all parents please ensure their child brings a WATER BOTTLE into school every day.
Would all parents please ensure that any reading books taken from the School library are returned in order for all pupils to have on-going access to a wide range of books to suit all their interests.
Please note that School will no longer be sending reminders for School trips as these can be found on the School website to download.
Many thanks.
Young Carers’ Awareness Open Day: Hatchford Brook Youth Centre: 30th January 2016: 1pm-4pm.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers – your help is always so appreciated.
