PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: WHO CAN PLAY?  Players CANNOT play on 2 men’s, 2 women’s, or 2 coed teams  One coed team + one women’s/men’s team = OK  A maximum of 1 club soccer athlete from the current academic year may appear on team’s roster.  Games with ineligible players will be forfeited  It is the captain’s responsibility to know the eligibility of their entire team

ONLINE ROSTERS

 Players must be on the online roster to be legal players.  If a player is NOT on the score sheet because: 1. Joined after 3pm, or 2. Technical difficulty, or 3. Just got picked up by the team that night, then: They can be written-in. Score sheets and online rosters will then be compared 2 business days later at 5:00pm. (Once a player checksin for a team they are a member of that team) Write-ins from the score sheet that are NOT on the online roster by that time will be considered illegal players, and the match result will be changed to a forfeit. (Even if the game is won by forfeit).  Players cannot be deleted/removed from rosters by captains or players. Please contact IM office to do this. – Email/phone/in-person

 Rosters are locked after your last regular season match.

FORFEITS  Match time is forfeit time  If one team has players present, but not enough to start a match, the prepared team has the following options: 1. Take the win by forfeit, OR 2. Give your opponent an additional 5 minutes to field an eligible team

 Forfeits count worse than losses  Sp. rating of 1  2 FF = eliminated from playoffs

(and possibly from the league)

DEFAULTS  Must contact IM office (email, phone, or in-person) by 12pm day of match (or Friday, for weekend matches)

 Worse than a loss in standings, but better than a FF  Sp. Rating of 2

SPORTSMANSHIP RATINGS 3 = Above Average 2 = Average 1 = Below Average 0 = Unacceptable

Must Maintain  Teams receiving a 1 or 0 must A meet with IM Staff before next match. 2.0 Average

JEWELRY POLICY:

NO JEWELRY ALLOWED!!  For contact sports (SOCCER included), players CANNOT wear jewelry Covering jewelry with tape or bandage is NOT permitted PENALTY = team plays down 2 minutes REGARDLESS of goals scored against

EQUIPMENT/UNIFORM RULES  REQUIRED:  Athletic, closed-toe, CLEAN shoes/cleats 1. Carry in turf shoes (these cannot be the shoes worn into the facility) 2. Check in and show turf shoes for inspection 3. Then change into turf shoes 4. Then enter turf  Same-color shirts/jerseys  WITH BIG numbers (not taped-on) •Pinnies will be available for checkout

NOT ALLOWED:  Outside shoes worn into the facility  Carried-in shoes that are not completely clean  Metal cleats  Hats with hard brims

LINEUP, ROSTERS, & SUBS  4v4 in the field  8-player max roster  Min. of 2 players required to play  Coed: 2 women & 2 men (when playing at full strength)  Difference between genders on field can never be greater than 1  Subs can be made during any dead ball situation, with official’s consent  To prevent players from jumping rosters, players cannot be deleted/removed from rosters by captains or players. Please contact IM office to do this. (Email/phone is great for this.)

GAME FORMAT & RULES  Rock-paper-scissors gets choice: o Kickoff or side o Kickoffs can be taken in any direction  Game time: Two 20-minute runningclock halves o Clock only stops for team and officials’ time outs  Teams get one 30-sec. time out per half  Mercy Rule: 5-goal differential any time in the last 2 minutes of game

GAME FORMAT & RULES Overtime: o 5-minute golden goal period (1st team to score wins) o If still tied  3-shooter PK shoot-out o Team ahead at the end of 3-shooter shoot-out declared winner o If still tied  1-shooter rounds until a winner is determined

RULES  Matches will be played in the IPF, using the sideline of the football field and cones along the interior of the field as boundaries  All free kicks (except PK’s) are INDIRECT: o Out-of-bounds violations = kick-in taken from spot on sideline o Goal kick = kick-in taken from anywhere along the goal/end line o Penalty kicks are taken 20 yards from the goal o All opposing players must be at least 5 yards off the ball at the time of the free kick.

RULES  There is NO offside penalty 

Intentionally going to the ground to play or block the ball IS A FOUL

 Crease Rules Crease is a marked 2-yard box in front of the goal o If an offensive player plays the ball in the crease a goal kick is awarded to the defense o If a defensive player plays the ball in the crease a penalty kick is awarded to the offense o

RULES  Cards o

A YELLOW card results in a player sitting out for 2 minutes, regardless of goals scored during this time.

A RED card results in a player’s ejection, and their team playing down 1 player for 5 minutes, regardless of goals scored during this time.

Hard foul Going to the ground and fouling an opponent Unsporting conduct Dissent Delaying the restart of the game Faking a foul - obvious “diving”

RED CARDS may be issued for fouls/infractions including, but not limited to: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Second yellow card issued to a player Flagrant/violent foul (e.g. very hard foul and/or intent to injure) Flagrant unsporting conduct Deliberate hand ball to prevent a goal-scoring opportunity

EJECTIONS  2 unsporting fouls or yellows = PLAYER EJECTION  3 unsporting fouls by a team in a game = FORFEIT  Ejected player: • Must leave the IPF • Suspended from ALL IM’s minimum of 1 week • Must meet with IM Sports professional staff to discuss lifting suspension  Playoff ejection: Automatically suspended from remainder of that sport’s playoffs  Depending on severity of incident, Student Recreation Center membership/access may also be suspended

PROTESTABLE

1. Misapplication or misinterpretation of rule. *Protest—Time of ruling. 2. Player Eligibility *Before start of 2nd half.

NOT PROTESTABLE

PLAYOFF SCHEDULES  Schedules will be posted online after the end of regular season (emails will go out)  Teams will play on different nights/times than they did in regular season

GAME LOCATION: CSU Indoor Practice Facility (“IPF”)

 Players will enter through the NW door, and be let in by an IM Official attending to the door (doors will not be unlocked)  Players must arrive within 15 minutes (before or after) of their game’s start time

IPF EXPECTATIONS  No non-players (anyone not appearing on a teams roster) may enter the IPF turf area  No fluids (other than water) may be taken into the IPF turf area  No shoes worn outdoors may be worn into the IPF turf area  Players may not jump onto any green padding surrounding the turf

 Any player jumping into or off the green padding will be issued a yellow card

 Players may not be anywhere in the IPF except the turf area, or main entrance  Any player found anywhere but these two locations will be suspended indefinitely
