Intramural Table Tennis Rules
Intramural Table Tennis Rules Regulations published in the Wichita State University Intramural Sports Captain’s Manual will be the governing policies for all Intramural Sports. Team captains are responsible for possessing a thorough understanding of these policies and their implications. Participation in all Intramural Sports events is voluntary. The Campus Recreation Department and the Intramural Program assume no responsibility for physical and/or mental injuries. Basic first aid will be available. All participants play at their own risk. The rules found on USTTA will be in effect with the following interpretations and exceptions. Points of emphasis and all recent rule changes will be in bold type. Location All games will be played at the Heskett Center in the racquetball corridor. Schedule
The league format will be a double elimination tournament. Participants will contact their opponent and set up a time to play. Participants must report the scores of the match(s) to the Competitive Sports program. o Send to [email protected] Brackets will be posted and updated on www.imleagues.com and players are to arrange matches with their set opponent.
Players All players must be on the IMLeagues roster and present their SHOCKER ID Card if checked. All players must be current students or Heskett Center members.
Equipment & Uniforms
Paddles may be checked out from the Equipment Checkout with a valid SHOCKER ID or players may choose to bring their own. Table tennis balls must be purchased by the participants
Timing
Game time is forfeit time. A 45-minute time limit has been established for each contest.
During Play
Matches will be best two-out-of-three games to 21 Must win by two. Players will alternate service after every 5 points Players must decide on their own who serves first. If a player is at Game Point (20), the other player will serve, regardless of whose turn it is to serve. A player cannot lose on the serve.
