In Sunday’s Gospel Jesus said ‘My sheep know my voice and they follow me, as I lead them to everlasting life. I know each one of them by name, and they can always trust me to take care of them and to protect them from harm. ‘ Jesus is the ‘Good Shepherd’ and anyone who follows him belongs to his flock. Jesus uses the idea of a shepherd and his flock to make the people understand how he guides and looks after people. He knows each one of us by name and called us to follow him when we were baptised. A good shepherd is always there when his sheep need him, just as Jesus is always there for us in times of need. Fundraising During lent the children planned and completed different sponsored activities to raise money for Ben’s Garden and The Nugent Care charity. We are delighted to announce that on the last count you have raised £600 which is absolutely fantastic. £300 will be given to each cause. We thank you all for your generosity and support. Year 2 Focus After such an enjoyable spring break all the children in Y2 have returned back to school with their positive learning attitude and an eagerness to prepare for the upcoming national tests. As a whole school we kicked off the summer term with an immersion day focusing on ‘Children as Leaders’. Year 2 spent time discussing the qualities of a good leader and how we can all take personal responsibility for things both in and out of school. We have been applying these fabulous leadership roles when out on the playground. The children have been amazed with the amount of new outdoor equipment that has been supplied to play with and are taking great responsibility to look after it. ‘I love that we have our own equipment and it makes playtimes more fun’ – Kai Edgerton ‘I have been playing with the cup and ball set with Olivia’ – Kaitlyn Keane-Trenwith ‘I was equipment monitor on the first day and I got to wear a yellow bib’ – James Rodgers Year 2 children have also been lucky enough to visit the Toby Carvery in Speke, this week. Following a very kind invitation from them we enjoyed a morning of food tasting and finding out all about different vegetables and fruits.

‘Sonia helped us to do the alphabet using fruits and vegetables’ – Leland Evans ‘I had 3 different types of meats and they were all delicious’ - Sonnie Rowlands
