NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release
Union County Berm Cutting Program Begins Union County Engineers Operations workers will be starting a county wide berm grading program in the coming weeks. The crew will start east of Marysville in Dover Township and work north in a counter-clockwise path around the county. The process will include a combination of cutting high berm areas and filling the low berm areas. This will help restore the berms along the edge of pavement to a condition that eliminates drop-offs and allows water to properly drain from the pavement surface. The areas affected will be within eight feet of the edge of pavement on both sides of the roadway. It will be a moving operation with traffic being maintained by flaggers. Sod will be removed along the shoulder area as a part of the operation. Front yard sections will not be impacted, unless the existing berm needs attention. All areas will naturally reestablish next spring and summer. Any questions can be directed to the Operations division at (937) 645-3017.
