January 2017 Show and Tell Carol Jo’s Rose quilt is from an Anita Good design.
Fran’s small bags were done in the hoop. The Swedish horse is an Embroidery Library design. She made quite a few of them for family members to celebrate their Swedish heritage.
Joanne’s baby quilt was machine quilted using her embroidery machine. She also knit the hat and booties to match.
Mary’s Mariner’s Compass blocks were done in the hoop in 4 sections and then joined together. She made three of them which will be joined into a table runner. They are an Anita Good design.
Janet B. embroidered “stuffed” blocks for a small child. The front has an intial and the back has a design. Stacked, the blocks spell out the child’s name. Janet cut the pieces for the appliqued table topper on a Scan and Cut machine. She embroidered the tote bag to take on a Disney trip.
Julie and Jan B. belong to a book group where they need to depict events occuring in the book they read. Julie shows her interpretation of Phantom of the Opera, while Jan’s shows The Stand. Jan used a 60 weight micro thread for the lettering. Jan also did the pillows below as well. They are Anita Good designs.
Ann made these cute children’s fleece jackets using a pattern from Sewing Geek. Animals were embroidered so it looks like the animal is climbing in and out of the pockets. Animal designs are from Embroidery Library.
Donna’s free form zippered bags don’t need a pattern - just a rectangle of fabric and a zipper. Great way to use embroidery sew outs! Her embroidered book marks are elegant.
Janet’s table topper Below is Jan T.’s patriotic wall hanging destined for a veteran entering Hospice Care.
Donna presented the program on how to join embroidered blocks. She presented techniques for both sashed and unsashed blocks.
