Embroidery Explorers June, 2017 Show and Tell Joanne used 2” blocks donated from Janet B’s mother to make this Around the World quilt. Joanne added to the number of blocks to come up with enough for a twin size quilt. She did all the machine quilting on her regular sewing machine!
Janet B. made a child’s activity quilt. Each block has a removable appliqued piece that attaches with velcro.
Jan T. used a pattern from Embroidery Library to stitch this table topper.
Jessie shows the hummingbird from last month’s Sunshine Stitchers program. She added a little “bling” to the bottom of the flower.
Beth with the denim quilt she made along with matching pillowcases. It was quite heavy!! Beth also made a set of matching placemats, table topper and potholder using Anita Good’s Fruit in a Basket design.
Carol Jo with her “Shop Hop” quilt from Anita Good designs. A close-up of the label features one of the shops. She also participated in a challenge contest and drew the color orange so her final result is shown done in various shadings of dark orange to yellow. We will miss Carol Jo as she returns to Florida as her expertise has been an inspiration to all of us. Sue Gardner’s presentation was on freestanding lace. The snowflake was done on organza. The lotus flower used variegated thread. The photo stand is in 2 pieces and quite elegant looking. Sue made her earrings and flower as free standing lace too.
