Harrisburg Explorer Elementary PTO – January Agenda

January 10, 2019 1. Opening a. Introductions – thank you for attending tonight! Happy New Year! 2. Mr Eppard Update a. Personalized Learning will be starting at Explorer next year. There will be a meeting on 02/05/2019 for parents. b. NWA testing was going on through the 18th of January. c. Report Cards have been posted for the 2nd period. 3. Old Business a. Flyboy Fundraiser • Flyboy fundraiser was a huge success raising over $2,500 for the school…great work everyone! 4. New Business a. Box Tops – Keep Collecting J • Deadline Collected • Next Contest • Also accepting Coke Gives & Tyson labels b. Tiger Wear • Budget request - $700 to purchase new t-shirts for Kindergarten Registration. Motion to approve: Jaime M and Michelle D – Approved. c. Conferences – Wednesday, February 13th • Soup bar • Tiger Wear sales d. Book Fair – Theme is Dinosaurs. Happening during conferences on 02/13/19 e. Art Exhibit & Silent Auction Committee Needed • Date: March 21 • Baskets – This will be the end of the silent auction for the classroom baskets. This way winners can pick up their baskets while they are at the school. • Company Artome is coming in and doing all of the set up. Artwork for each student will be framed. There will be concessions as well. f. Bingo Night • January 25 – will also include a Staff Chili Cook off. $5 allows you to participate in Chili tasting and a sandwich.

Budget request - $500 for concessions and prizes. This also allows for money for movie night concessions as well. Motion to approve: Nicki M and Jamie O. - Approved Mother/Son Game Night • February 22 • Budget request - $1000 for the purchase of games, rentals, and food. Motion to approve: Michelle D and Nicki M. Movie Night • March 22 • Movie TBD. Treasurer’s Report – Motion to approve: Nicole P and Ariel T. - Approved Open PTO Positions 2019-2020 • Open PTO positions will be announced at the February 2019. 5. Request for Funds a. Acheson – Secret Stories $105.45. Motion to approve: Michelle D and Nicole P – Approved b. Teacher Pay Teachers $209 for reading program. Motion to approve: Ariel T & Nicole P. c. Finnicum, Nowak, Haensel, Lipetzky – Words our way – spelling help. This is for 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. $288. Motion to approve: Jaime M and Michelle D – Approved d. Costain – Dodge balls (48) $554. Students play with these daily during the winter months. Motion to approve: Jaime M and Ariel T. e.
