January 25, 2017 Newsletter Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Wayne and Kathy Everett joined the Westview Family January 15th. Noah Haney and Jacob Kennon were baptized January 22nd.
The 2017 Budget was unanimously approved on January 15th.

Have you ever considered your roots, your upbringing, and how it has impacted your thought process? I am sure we all have many different stories to tell, some with similarities and some with differences. The imposing question might be “how does it impact our faith?” The apostle Paul knew that these were all important factors that influenced our faith. Family dynamics and culture can be a hindrance at times in how we live out our faith. In his letter to the Corinthian believers he was reminding them of mistakes the Jews and the Greeks had made in their practices and understandings, much of what was derived from their upbringing. It impacted their way of viewing the truth and message of the cross of Christ. Some were looking for miracles and others were looking for wisdom to find their way in life toward fulfilment in God. This often became intertwined with the world and man’s wisdom. Humanity’s power and wisdom are a great temptation that can lead to destruction. Worldly standards would tell us otherwise and often boast in these areas. Fortunately, God had the answer for the Corinthians and he does for us as well. Come join us as we explore “Bragging Rights”; the message of the cross, the power and wisdom of God, and the result of knowing Him.
