Jesus confessed to being a King (John 18:37) when standing before Pilate. Israel had a history of Kings, both good ones and terrible ones. Their first King was the best by far. However, in the USA human kings were seldom thought of as good. In fact, the USA came into existence to get as far away from royalty as possible.
