King Jesus: The Priestly King
King Jesus: The Priestly King Jesus is our priest (Hebrews 2:17 and 4:14). What does a priest do? A priest sacrifices for us and pleads our case to God in prayer.
1. What are the duties of a priest? How does Jesus fulfill these duties as our priest (Hebrews 2:17 and 4:14).
Praying for others is something God teaches His people to do again and again even for the so-called “undeserving”. (see Abraham in Genesis 18:16-33 Moses in Exodus 15:25 and Jonah in Jonah 1-3). Prayer is a tool God uses to teach us to focus on others and love others.
2. How do we normally pray? How does Jesus pray for us in John 17?
Some of the most influential people in history had someone close to them praying for them regularly. Jesus prays for us! (John 17:1-23) but Jesus prays for our witness and our unity. 3. What is the purpose of prayer? Do you pray for others? How do you pray? Do you pray like Jesus? We should pray primarily for our fellow Christians to be free from satanic attack, to be unified and to be faithful.
