John & Ronda Lennon Missionaries to Ecuador Summer/Fall 2015 Dear Friends and Family, When God moved us from Paraguay to Ecuador back in 2012, it was hard to understand what His purpose was for our transition of fields. At the time, a pastor friend of ours said: Sometimes God changes our plans because it will result in the spread of the Gospel. Little did we know that God would use us for that purpose. A prison chaplain friend of ours invited John to visit a Paraguayan man who was held in the local Immigration Detention Center, awaiting his deportation back to Paraguay. He had come to Ecuador for illicit purposes and was sentenced to several years in prison at the Federal Penitentiary. But while imprisoned he trusted Christ as his Savior and was involved in a regular Bible study program with other inmates. Having completed his sentence, he was in transition at the Detention Center to return to Paraguay. Since Christ had changed his life, he now wanted to join a Bible preaching church and form new friends for accountability and spiritual growth instead of returning to his old set of friends. It was there that John was able to help him with information to assist one of our association of churches in Paraguay so that he could continue growing in the Lord. After this Paraguayan man returned home, John has since met with people on a regular basis at the Detention Center to help them locate Bible preaching churches in their respective countries plus continue having Bible studies while they await their deportation. Some of the countries where these new believers in Christ have returned to are: Canada, South Africa, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Thailand, Philippines, Paraguay, Brazil, Senegal, Turkey and Iran. Because of the sensitivity of the ministry in the prisons and Immigration Detention Center, we are not able to provide photos of these new believers. But after looking back at all that has happened since 2012, we can say yes, God sometimes changes our plans because it will result in the spread of the Gospel! Love and Prayers,
