Two Good Farms CSA July 19, 2016 Welcome to the sixth week of the Two Good Farms CSA! As promised last week, this week’s shares include red potatoes. With our purple cauliflower added to the mix, all the varietals of cauliflower are now in full swing. Let us know how you put these gorgeous veggies to use, we always love to see our produce in action. The purple caulifower is our personal favorite. The deep purple is unfortuantely lost when the vegetable is cooked, but the flavor is unimpacted by the color. For the cauliflower fun fact of the week, the purple color of this cauliflower is produced by a flavanoid that reduces the risk of cancer. This flavanoid is not found in white or orange cauliflower, and is unique to this varietal. Finally, our red potatoes are ready! The skins are extrememly delicate, so we didn’t wash them as thoroughly as you will probably want to. They are still a little sandy to retain their color, so just give them a quick rinse before using them in any dishes. As a side note, they’re absolutely fantastic cooked on the grill with this week’s dill and a dash of salt!
