June & July 2015 News Moving On It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that we say goodbye to our Y2s as they move on to their new schools. Whilst we will miss their smiling faces and their helpful attitudes, I am thrilled that they are moving to the next exciting stage in their school career and I am sure they will continue to do well. Good luck and my best wishes to all of you.

Staffing and Class Structure As our numbers continue to rise we have had to make some slight changes to our structure from September. The classes will be as follows: NURSERY (FOUNDATION ONE) Oak Class—Mrs Renshaw FOUNDATION TWO (RECEPTION) Ash Class—Miss Haywood Beech Class—Mrs Mills YEAR ONE Cherry Class—Miss Johnson Maple Class—Miss Gayfer YEAR TWO Sycamore Class—Mrs Potts (MTW) & Mrs Wingrove (WThF) Mrs Bates will continue to support children with special education needs across the school as our Inclusion Manager. FINES FOR HOLIDAYS From September Skegby Junior Academy will be fining parents and carers for taking their children out of school during term time for family holidays. Our governors are considering the same.
Paying money into the school office.
SWIMMING LESSONS FOR YEAR TWO
All money paid into the office MUST be in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and the amount paid written on the front. You can post envelopes with money into the letterbox on the wall of the entrance outside the office. Free envelopes are provided next to the letterbox. CHANGE The office are unable to give change immediately each morning. Any change from your payment envelope will be available for you to collect from the office at the end of the day. Thank you.
INSET DAYS 2015-16 School will be closed to pupils on Thurs 22nd and Fri 23rd October 2015 and Mon 6th June and Mon 23rd July 2016.
Year Two will begin swimming lessons during school time in the Autumn. Each Thursday afternoon they will go to Lammas pool on a coach, have a swimming lesson led by experienced instructors and then return to school to go home. We are really pleased that school have been able to fund this through our Sports Premium grant as we believe that every child should be able to swim for safety as well as enjoyment and fitness. Due to the timing of the lesson we may be a little later back to school than the end of the school day, however we will ensure that there is a place to wait indoors for those of you collecting more than one child.
School uniform from the office If you are collecting, ordering, paying for or trying on school uniform please do so at the end of the school day, not in the morning. The office staff are very busy with registers and banking first thing, and do not wish to cause people to wait in a queue to speak to them or hand money in.
