SCOPE OF THE GAME: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
The Juniors division is a competitive and instructional division, and the focus for the managers should be to help the players transition from the smaller baseball diamond to the full size regulation baseball field. Scores/Pitch Count will be kept during the regular season, and standings will be maintained. Due to the fact that the Juniors division is often held to just a few teams, interleague play with other Little Leagues is likely and encouraged. When Interleague play is in effect, the game will be played in accordance with Little League Rules and the host team’s local options will be followed. A game will consist of (7) innings, and is a regulation game after (4) innings. The (10) run rule will apply. No new inning will begin after (1) hour and (45) minutes. Ties are possible. A team’s offensive inning is considered over once the defense has recorded (3) outs, or the offensive team has batted through its entire available line-up. The point system for standing is as follows: (2) points for a win and (1) point for a tie. Head to Head will be the first tiebreaker and Runs nd allowed will be used as a 2 tiebreaker should two teams remain tied at the end of the year.
PLAYING RULES: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
Teams will bat their entire line up. Players arriving late will be added to the bottom of the line-up. There are no substitutions to the batting order. Teams are allowed “free” defensive substitutions. 15 year old players are not allowed to pitch. NO player will sit defensively for more than 3 consecutive outs, meaning any player who sits on the bench for a full defensive inning MUST play the next full defensive inning (3 outs). The home team is the official scorekeeper, and is responsible for score and pitch counts. The score and pitch count must be logged, completed, signed, and turned into the concession stand at end of game. Any Manager that violates the line-up, pitch count (see LL rules), or defensive play rules is subject to suspension at the discretion of the league president. st rd Teams must have an adult coach/manager in the dugout at all times and teams must have a base coach at both 1 and 3 base. st Uniformed players are permitted as 1 base coaches provided they have a helmet. Any rule/option not addressed will follow the Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball.
