Campus Visits Please review the important reminders regarding the basics of a prospective student-athlete’s visit to KU’s campus. Note: A prospective student-athlete (PSA) is anyone was has started the ninth grade (seventh grade for men’s basketball camps and clinics). Official Visit •

One visit to KU per PSA Permissible opening day of PSA’s senior year in high school (Men’s Basketball: January 1 of junior year; Women’s Basketball: Thursday after NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship of PSA’s junior year) Visit may last up to 48 hours Basketball: Up to two (2) parents/legal guardians may receive travel and accommodations A prospect and two guests may receive complimentary admission to a KU home contest in any sport (may receive addition two for nontraditional families) Prior to visit: Transcripts, tests scores, registered with the Eligibility Center, activated on KU’s IRL (compliance) Impermissible during a dead period (exception: permissible if PSA has signed NLI/AGIA/KU has received deposit in response to offer of admission) Student host may be provided $40/day to use for entertainment Student-athletes may play “pick up” with prospects provided coaches are not in attendance, but only basketball may hold oncampus evaluations

September 2013 Kansas Athletics Compliance Institutional Vacation Period Reminder Labor Day: Monday, September 2nd In-Season • Hourly and weekly limitations do not apply to countable athletically related activity • No activity between midnight and 5am Out-of-Season • No countable activity • Voluntary activity permissible as long as: • Activity is initiated by student-athlete • No coaches are present other than those permitted by the safety exception: Rowing, Track & Field, Swimming & Diving • No sport-specific staff members present (i.e., Director of Operations) • No information is reported back to coaching staff • No sport-specific instruction is provided
