Kaplan Singapore Student Beats Bankers in Professional Exam Kaplan Singapore Diploma student, Mr. Chang Yi Xiong, has out-scored over 1,000 other candidates including industry professionals to top the Singapore section of the professional paper examined by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), UK. Yi Xiong, a part-time student at Kaplan Singapore, finished first for the International Investment Management module, a module he was prepared for as part of his Diploma in Banking, Securities and Investment Management at Kaplan. Pictured below holding his award, Yi Xiong said he was „humbled‟ to be able to accept the award from Mr. Kevin Moore, C, Director Global Business Development for CISI, who travelled from the UK for the awards ceremony held on Tuesday, December 8, 2013 at Kaplan Singapore Cuppage Campus . Also present in the photo are Chris Harris, Head of the School of Diploma Studies at Kaplan and Mr Robert Cronin, Director Asia Pacific. Kaplan Singapore and CISI have an exclusive partnership, making Kaplan the only Private Education Institution in Singapore able to offer its Diploma in Banking, Securities and Investment Management in association with CISI. “Last year, Kaplan enrolled 500 students for various CISI modules, which is a sign of both the strength of our partnership with Kaplan and the strong emphasis on Internationally-accredited awards in Singaporean Financial sectors. CISI works with Kaplan because we share an emphasis on professional and industry-relevant programs”, Mr Moore said. Mr Harris supported Mr Moore‟s remarks saying: “Kaplan Singapore School of Diploma Studies works with industry and professional bodies like CISI to ensure our students are ready both for a professional career and for their future Higher Education Studies.” Case in point being Mr Xiong, who is now pursuing a career as a self-employed trader and investor while concurrently continuing his studies at degree level. Since graduating from the Diploma in 2012, Yi Xiong has commenced his Bachelor Degree at Kaplan, in association with another international partner, University College Dublin, Ireland. Yi Xiong is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Banking and Wealth Management, offered entirely on campus at Kaplan, Singapore. “For me, it was an easy choice to stay with Kaplan for my degree studies”, Mr Yi Xiong said.
