KIWANIS CLUB OF MANCHESTER SCHOLARSHIPS - 2018 The Kiwanis Club of Manchester will offer scholarships to high school seniors who are active members of a Key Club as outlined below. Page 1 of 2
Eligibility Requirements: A Key Club Member who: - has been an active member of a Key Club for at least the past twelve (12) months. - has paid dues and appears on the roster on file at Key Club International. - is a graduating high school senior from Manchester West, Manchester Memorial or Bedford High School and who is college, university, technical, or vocational school- bound. - has a grade–point average of at least a “B” or the equivalent of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Application Requirements: Applicants will provide the Kiwanis Club of Manchester’s Scholarship Committee with: 1. A copy of their acceptance letter. The acceptance cannot be a probationary acceptance. 2. The school Key Club advisor must certify in writing to the Kiwanis Club of Manchester’s Scholarship Committee that the applicant is an active member of the related club during the past twelve months. 3. A written essay (1 page maximum) highlighting the applicants Key Club experience and how they feel it will affect their future, and why this scholarship is needed. 4. A separate page outlining A. what Key Club positions they have held, number of years involved, events that they were involved in. B. List other organizations they are involved in and what their role was. C. What other community service related activities have you been involved in. ................................................................................. We, as a committee can decide the following : 1. Award $5,000 to ONE SINGLE recipient. 2. Award LESSER AMOUNTS to one or several recipients. (Maximum total $5,000) P.O. Deadline: All applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2018. Scholarship applications should be submitted to Kiwanis, Attn: Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 987, Manchester, NH 03105
Amount of Scholarship: Total possible scholarship money available (awarded on April 16, 2018 for the 2018/19 Academic Year of September through May) is $5,000. This will possibly be allocated among several recipients.
How winners will be paid: Winner(s) will be announced at our regularly scheduled Kiwanis of Manchester Meeting on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 5:30pm. If you are submitting an application please plan on attending this meeting. You will be a guest of Kiwanis of Manchester. A check made payable to the student will be presented at their schools scholarship night.
