Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more. Luke 12:42-48
At the council of Elrond in Rivendell, it is determined that someone must take the ring to Mordor and throw it in the fire of Mt. Doom. As the cast of characters, elves, dwarves, and men argue among themselves at the absurdity of this task, Frodo, the hobbit, steps up and takes responsibility. Faith Leap of Faith Do you ever dream of doing something great? Do you want to break the mold or inspire others? Pursuing great things doesn’t happen by chance. Pursuing your dreams almost always requires a leap of faith.
Read Hebrews 11:3. How did God create the universe? Why is this important for Christians to understand?

God, the Creator of the Universe, is calling you to step out in faith and follow Him. When you learn to acknowledge who He is, you will be able to take steps of faith—not because of the conditions of your circumstances, but because you trust Him.
Do you think God is calling you to take a step of faith for Him? Do you think He has a plan for your life that requires you to take that first step? What might that first step be?
What are some other ways you can step out in faith for God this week? Perhaps there’s a friend you’ve been wanting to invite to church, or a mission trip you haven’t committed to yet. Take the leap and trust God to take care of the rest.
My Prayer Father, help me this week to faithfully pursue You with my words, actions, and attitude.
A Partner, a Blindfold, and Obstacles When was the last time you placed your faith in something or someone? You’ve probably done this more times than you realize. Every time you enter into a situation that may seem uncertain, you are taking a step of faith. In fact, you may have even played a game in your youth group that required a partner, a blindfold, and some obstacles to illustrate how faith works. Perhaps you were the one blindfolded while your partner was giving you instructions to get through a maze without crashing into any of the obstacles.
What gives you confident faith in someone or something?
Read Deuteronomy 31:6. How did God encourage Moses and the Israelites in this passage? What did He promise? What encourages you to put your faith in God?
God’s message, in a time where Moses was about to hand over his leadership role to Joshua, was to have faith in Him. In times where worry, fear, anxiety, pressure, and negative thoughts surround you, you can be confident in the Lord. He will never leave you or forsake you.
My Prayer
In the next few moments, be honest with God and tell him your concerns. You can’t build confidence in the Lord unless you are willing to follow His lead in faith.
God, help me to put my faith and confidence in You. ©YOU WORK FOR THEM

Costly
Have you ever heard the phrase, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch; everything has a price”? This statement holds true— everything costs something.
What was your most recent purchase? Where did you get the money to pay for that item?
When you begin to understand that everything has a price (and that money doesn’t grow on trees), your perspective begins to change and you find a new appreciation for the things you have.
Read Ephesians 2:8. What does this verse say about the cost of salvation?
God, holy and perfect in every way, gave a way for sinful people (that’s all of us) to have a relationship with Him by the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus. There is nothing you could or can do on your own to wipe clean the sin that is in your life. Jesus alone paid that price. God’s love is reflected in His grace.
Read Romans 5:8. Spend a moment thanking Christ for His great sacrifice.
Continue to remind yourself this week that “everything has a price,” including your salvation. Having the right perspective can change the way you live out your faith.

My Prayer God, thank You for Jesus’ sacrifice for my sins. You paid the ultimate price so I can have eternal life.
