A 4 Stage, Time Based Omnium

Friday, August 7th Sunday, August 9th USAC Permit 20152173 The Lakes Area Omnium will be a professionally run event that will surely challenge your fitness and skill. The event will feature four unique stages, including a hill time trial, 7corner criterium, 6 mile time trial, and circuit race. The event will also be unique in that riders will be placed on time differential instead of the traditional omnium points system. This presents a new tactical challenge for individual riders and teams entering the race. Online registration can be found on USAC website. Registration closes at midnight on 8/3/2015. Please note that in order to compete in the omnium overall, you must participate in all 4 events . Preregistration is highly encouraged to ensure you entry into the race. Stage 1: PAINCAVE Time Trial (Friday, August 7th 6p Start) $600 Cash Prizes and Merchandise This 1 mile time trial up the challenging Lapham Peak may seem short and sweet, but it will surely test your legs. Between the short distance and gradients reaching 14%, this will surely be a test of power and determination. Note: Dayof Omnium registrants will be last to start in the TT order (Click HERE to view course) Stage 2: Couri Insurance Circuit Race (Saturday, August 8th 11a Start) $2,000 Cash Prizes and Merchandise A fast, furious, and technical that will test your bike handling skills and your race tactics. The race will take place in heart of the winding roads of the Lake Country. The course provides hills, narrow roads, and tight turns to give you a variety of challenges. (Click HERE to view course) Stage 3: Wheel and Sprocket Time Trial (Sunday, August 9th 7:30a Start) $800 Cash Prizes and Merchandise Test your legs against the clock on this rolling TT course. This 6 mile course will test your stamina, as well as your technical TT skills. The time trial will be Eddie Merckx style, meaning no arrow equipment will be allowed . This regulation will level the playing field and make this time trial a true test of guts and glory. (Click HERE to view course)
Stage 4: Badger Orthotics Circuit Race (Sunday, August 9th 11a Start) $2,000 Cash Prizes and Merchandise The Circuit Race course will be the same course as the TT, but the winner will surely be the rider with the most tactical prowess. Omnium packet pickup will open at 4p on Friday near the PAINCAVE TT start at Lapham Peak. Nonomnium race entries must be completed by 5p for Friday TT and 30 minutes prior to the start of your event for circuit races. Oneday licenses are only available to cat 5 men, cat 4 women and juniors, but will not be available onsite.
