Saturday March 10 & Sunday March 11 , 2012 Under USA Cycling (USAC) permit -- Part of the NMBRA Race Series **NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION** (link below) No entry fee for Junior riders racing in their category (but must have a license or one-day license). Race starts/groups: Men: Cat 1/2/3; Cat 4; Cat 5; Masters 50+ (Categories 2-4); Collegiate A; Collegiate B; Collegiate C. Women: Cat 1/2/3; Cat 4; Collegiate A/B; Collegiate C. Juniors: Men and Women 16 and under (*Juniors 17-18 will race in their category – but still free registration) (Categories may be combined based Chief Referee and Promoter consultation) Course Descriptions: Saturday 10th – Time Trial: The course for all racers is an out and back course on a Frontage Road for 20K (12 miles). Course is mostly flat and straight. Approximate start times are listed below. Saturday 10th – Criterium: The course for all racers is a flat, square 1-mile circuit located close to the time trail course. Race lengths are listed below. Sunday 11th – Road Race: (see maps below) The 35 mile course starts in Hillsboro toward Lake Valley for 13 miles; returns to Hillsboro finishes with 9 miles up to Kingston. The 52 mile course starts in Hillsboro toward Lake Valley then continues for 24 miles; returns to Hillsboro and finishes with 9 miles up to Kingston. Course distances for the different start groups are listed below. Registration: Time Trial event $15; Criterium event $20; Road Race event $30 (OMNIUM $55.00) [Collegiate discount TT-$15; Crit - $15; RR - $25; OMNI - $50]. One-day license $10/day. One day licenses are for new Cat 5 men/Cat 4 women, and Juniors. All others must have an annual license. th

Sunday 11 – Hillsboro STAGING & REGISTRATION - From Albuquerque, take I-25 south until you hit the Hillsboro exit #63 (south of T or C). From Las Cruces, go north on I-25 to exit #63 (north of Hatch). Parking: In Hillsboro. There are several houses in this area, so please be careful to allow them plenty of access to their homes. USAC Rule 3B9 Updated information at: www.ziavelocycling.org Beware: The courses include several cattle guard crossings. Please keep this in mind and help spread the word throughout the pack when approaching one. Stay Alert! Course will be open to traffic. Appropriately, centerline rule will be enforced at all times. -- Approved helmets must be worn at all times when on the bike [Yes, that means the parking lot, too].
