organization. As the healthcare environment changes and organizations are asked to do more with less, it will be more important than ever for not-for-profit aging service professionals to have deep leadership bench strength and become innovative thinkers. To support the membership in this regard, LeadingAge California offers EMERGE, a Leadership program designed to develop and shape tomorrow’s leaders.

“EMERGE broke down the wall of limitations I had for myself and find my true potential. The ability to surround myself with positive influences in various fields of Aging Services allowed me to gain priceless knowledge “If I could describe my EMERGE experience using three words they would be: LIFE CHANGING, TRANSPARENT, and EXCITING!”

that I will carry the rest of my career.”
– Ernesto Guzman, EMERGE c/o 2016
THE FELLOWS THE FELLOWS
Currently in its 7th cohort, EMERGE is available to anyone who is a LeadingAge CA member, irrespective of position or work experience. It is far more important for candidates to demonstrate potential within their organizations and the field of aging services than it is for them to carry specific job titles. Fellows will engage in four small group, customized learning experiences that include site visits to member organizations in various facets of long-term care, reading assignments from a wide range of authors and experts in the field of leadership development, networking opportunities with Leaders in the field and class activities aimed towards achieving a self-exploration of different leadership styles.
