OVERVIEW: This first day will focus entirely on YOU and the value of your role as a leader in the field of revitalization and community development. The workshop will consist of several interactive sessions and engaging presentations that will help you to define your strategy to lead effectively and achieve successful results. We will start by exploring leadership styles and tools, including emotional intelligence, the most important leadership skill. Then getting very practical, we’ll explore principles of time and stress management to help you manage the fast-paced world we work in. INSTRUCTOR: Patricia Clason Patricia Clason, a professional speaker for more than 35 years, is the owner and director of a learning and coaching consulting firm in Milwaukee. Patricia is the author of Claim Your Unlimited Potential, more than 50 human resource development programs, and co-author of Speaking of Success, with Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), Stephen Covey (Seven Habits of Highly Successful People) and Ken Blanchard (Gung Ho! and Raving Fans). Patricia works with organizations, individuals, and associations to help them skillfully create more harmonious and efficient working environments. OVERVIEW: The second day of the workshop will focus on your role as an agent to lead others to action in order to achieve the vision and goals of your organization. The day will include team building exercises and tools to strengthen your ability to apply your own leadership style while recognizing the various common grounds and challenges in working with people who use different styles and have different perspectives. Interactive and motivational sessions will provide insightful strategies to enhance your efforts to empower people and maximize the value of their engagement. ____________________________________________________________________________________
INSTRUCTOR: Rodney “Buck” Hillestad Rodney (Buck) Hillestad is founder and president of Hillestad Learning Technologies, a training and development company specializing in training design and delivery, along with leadership/managerial, and team skills. Before founding Hillestad Learning Technologies in 1998, Buck accumulated over 20 years of managerial and training experience with a major construction equipment manufacturer in multiple venues including sales & marketing, manufacturing and information systems.
