My Personality Personalities make us unique Our personality is what makes each of us unique. It is how a person …

thinks ...

feels ...

and acts ...

... in different situations. The things a person likes to do and things they don’t like to do also make up a person’s personality. You may have noticed that animals have their own personalities too. Some are timid whilst others are very friendly! Even though we all have different personalities, we are all able to get along by accepting that no two people will always think, feel or act in exactly the same way, all the time.

EXplore! What makes us unique 1. Personality board Capture your personality through pictures. Use a magazine to find pictures that help to express your own special personality. Think about all the things you like to do, your favourite colours, things you remember, feelings you have, things you think about, things you like, things you are good at, and anything else you can think of. Have a look at your classmates' personality boards to check out how different our personalities really are! 2. Question starters With a small group, use the following question starters to discuss and explore how you think, feel and act in different situations. Your ideas will help other people in your group to learn more about your personality. • • • • • • • • • • •

I think I am helpful when … I feel clever when … I act strong when … I like it when ... I think I am happiest when … I feel proud when … I act shy when … I like to … I don’t like to … I think it would be great if we could … I feel happiest when …

3. Talk with your family about the things they love about your personality. What do you love about the personalities of the people you live with? For more great activities, visit www.lifeeducation.org.nz
