Level 2 Award for Tracked Vehicle Maintenance

This qualification provides the standards that must be achieved by individuals that are overseeing and supervising a team of specialist communicators. Pre-entry Requirements None Unit Content and Rules of Combination This qualification is made up of a total of 1 mandatory unit. Assessment criteria

The learner will:

1. Outline the importance of health and safety in an automotive vehicle workshop environment

The learner can:

1.1. Identify the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for carrying out maintenance Tasks 1.2. Identify the correct vehicle protective equipment for carrying out maintenance Tasks

2. Undertake effective 2.1 Identify and use suitable cleaning equipment and material housekeeping practices following organisational environmental policies and in an automotive vehicle procedures and manufacturer’s instructions workshop environment 2.2 Keep the work area clean and free from debris and waste materials 2.3 Ensure tools and equipment are fit for purpose by regular cleaning and stored correctly 2.4 Describe the disposal of used cleaning agents, waste materials and debris to comply with legal and organisational requirements. 3. 5.1 Identify all consumables required to carry out vehicle maintenance as per manufacturer’s instructions, to include: • Oils • Lubricants • Greases • Antifreeze • Coolants • Filters 5.2 Safely and effectively carry out routine vehicle maintenance in line with organisational and vehicle maintenance schedules 5.3 Record and report findings, problems or delays for routine maintenance and inspection
