What was Jesus’ priority in His ministry (4.31, 43; 5.1)? What do you see in the healings that stick out to you of being significant (4.31-41)? Why does Jesus go to a secluded place? What is significant about this (4.42)? What were the fisherman doing when Jesus comes upon them (5.1-2)? How does Peter’s attitude change (5.5-9)? What is Jesus calling Peter and his business partners to (5.10)? What is their response (5.11)?
Looking Deeper: 1. Jesus poured His life into ministry. Are you pouring yourself out in ministry? What are you doing? 2. For those of you who are pouring yourself out in ministry, rest and recovery and solitude. What’s that look like? Are you getting your time with God? Are you getting your break? 3. Who are those in your sphere of influence that Jesus wants you to cast the net out to? PRAY: 1. Pray for the group that we would pour our life into ministry marked by evangelism. 2. Pray that our church body would pour their life out into ministry marked by evangelism. Pray that nets would bust with souls. Do: Seek to model Jesus’ ministry this week in your own life and take up the call to be “a fisher of men”. Make time to share with someone the gospel this week.
