INTRO & REMINDERS OVERVIEW: LifeGroup leaders build community with the kids and set the expectations for the LifeGroup experience. SUGGESTED TIME: 5-6 minutes SUPPLIES: Green Dot Stickers, Red Dot Stickers

Gather kids together sitting in a circle. Introduce yourself.

Welcome to LifeGroup! I am so glad you are here today! Today we heard from our friends Willy Worm and Ms./Mr. Wise. Wasn’t it awesome? Be sure to invite all your friends next week! We are going to go over a few reminders for LifeGroup. There are two very special rules to remember so we can have fun today. The rules to follow are: REMINDER 1 1. Be Safe – How can we be safe? (keeping our hands to ourselves, sitting when others are sitting, walking instead of running, following the rules) REMINDER 2 2. Be Kind – How can we be kind? (listening when others are talking, sharing, obeying leaders, sitting on our bottoms so others can see) Let’s introduce ourselves and agree to the LifeGroup rules. I’ll start. I am ________. I will be kind and safe! (designate a kid to start and go around the circle until all kids have had a turn) After each child says his/her name, place one Green Dot Sticker on one of the child’s hands and one Red Dot Sticker on the other hand.

We exist to reach the unchurched and awaken the spiritually restless to love God and love people by engaging kids and empowering families.

If I asked you your name and you told me your name was Willy Worm, would you have been telling the truth? (allow responses) That’s right! Telling the truth is one way we can WISE UP, and that’s what our Rock Solid Idea is today! Let me hear you say this after me: (pause to allow kids to repeat)

I W ill (thumbs to chest) Tell The Truth! (cup hands around mouth) Now keep your stickers on your hands, because we’ll use them to play a game in just a few minutes!

MAKE IT MATTER SUGGESTED TIME: 8 minutes SUPPLIES: Bible Story Cards, Grab Bag (with Grab Bag Cards inside)

Show and read the Bible Story Cards (“Jacob’s Tricks”).

God wants us to TELL THE TRUTH (show Green Dot Sticker) all the time. When we TELL A LIE (show Red Dot Sticker), like Jacob did, we can hurt ourselves and others. Let’s use our GREEN lights and RED lights to help us learn to tell the truth.

Pass the Grab Bag, allowing one child at a time to select one Grab Bag Card from the bag.

Then read the child’s Grab Bag Card aloud and allow the group to respond. Play until each child has had a turn, or as time allows.

We exist to reach the unchurched and awaken the spiritually restless to love God and love people by engaging kids and empowering families.

3

Telling a lie can hurt us AND hurt others! A lie is anything we say that is not true. Even when it is hard, God wants us to tell the truth. If you will tell the truth this week, say this after me: (have kids repeat after you) I W ill (thumbs to chest) Tell The Truth! (cup hands around mouth)

WRAP IT UP SUGGESTED TIME: 5-8 minutes SUPPLIES: Hand Sanitizer, Snacks, Crayons, Coloring Sheets

Pray with your group, having them repeat after you in short phrases. Dear God, please help me to always tell the truth! Thank you for my snack. I love you! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

- Sanitize hands with hand sanitizer and pass out snacks. - Explain and practice the series memory verse. Then allow each child to SAY it aloud to you.

God wants you and me to WISE UP and always tell the truth! We can WISE UP as we read the Bible! Let’s say these words from the Bible together!

“Wise people (thumbs to chest) Can listen (cup hand around ear) And learn...” (point to head) Proverbs 1:5 (show one finger) As kids are eating, give them a coloring sheet and crayons. Allow them to draw a picture of themselves on their coloring sheets. As they color, talk about what they learned today.

We exist to reach the unchurched and awaken the spiritually restless to love God and love people by engaging kids and empowering families.

HAVE EXTRA TIME? OVERVIEW: A time to engage and connect with kids before parent pick-up.

Teacher Says - If “Teacher Says” to do a motion, kids will repeat motion. If Teacher does NOT say to do a motion, kids will continue doing previous motion. Allow kids a turn to be “Teacher.” Follow the Leader - Have kids follow you as your group walks in a circle and copies your motions. Allow kids a turn to be the “Leader.” W illy’s W iggle W orm s - Call out different motions for kids to do to shake out their wiggles. These motions could include: stand up, sit down, hop three times, run in place, wiggle, etc.
