Our Commitments Fostering awareness. The Quell Foundation aims to educate communities and individuals about the disparities in care and effective treatment protocols afforded to the vulnerable and stigmatized population with mental illness. We strive to definitively reduce the number of suicides, drug overdoses, and the incarceration of people who suffer with a treatable mental illness. Advancing training. The Quell Foundation endeavors to decriminalize mental illness through advanced training programs designed to offer first responders specialized skills to better recognize and intervene in behavioral, mental and emotional crises within their profession and community. Bridging gaps in care. The Quell Foundation breaks barriers and expands access and the delivery of mental health care services caused by the dearth of mental health care providers. Increasing the talent pipeline and advocating for legislative reformation to extend the scope of services provided by clinical behavioral health professionals are essential to achieving our mission. Scholarships The Quell Foundation believes education is key to understanding, supporting, and creating awareness about mental health. The Quell “Fighter” Scholarship is awarded to a high school student who is an outstanding graduate, and is being treated for a diagnosed mental health condition. The Quell “Bridge the Gap” Graduate Scholarship is awarded to select graduate students pursuing a degree in the mental health field that leads to licensure as a mental health practitioner. The Quell “Bridge the Gap” Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to select undergraduate students pursuing a degree in psychology, social work, or other fields of study related to the provision of mental health services. The Quell “Survivor” Scholarship is awarded to select undergraduate students who have experienced the devastating loss of a parent or caregiver to suicide.
