Queensland Catholic Education Week 2011 Spirit of Catholic Education Awards

Linda Mayoh Linda Mayoh, Holy Spirit School Nominated by Gayle Kane Linda has been employed with Holy Spirit School for the past four years as a Tuckshop Coordinator and in that time has proven to be vital member of the school community and the tuckshop in particular. Her service and support, her leadership, organisation skills and community involvement have all been commendable. Working with volunteers requires many personal skills such as patience, understanding, providing guidance and sometimes an empathetic ear to listen. Linda has all of these qualities and more. She always has a smile and time for anyone. Linda has endless calmness and tenacity, and will work on a problem until the situation has been resolved. Those who know Linda or work with her, feel privileged to have her as a friend or colleague. She is always ready to help others, to share her knowledge, to guide the tuckshop volunteers with patience and friendliness, and to work as part of a team to provide a great service to the school. The tuckshop could not function as well as it does without Linda. The Holy Spirit school community benefits greatly from Linda, with her helping out in any way possible. She is involved in school social events, helping out in class rooms and at sporting events. As well as her role as a tuckshop coordinator, she also works as a volunteer in the tuckshop. She is on the school P&F committee. She contributes to the school fetes by helping to bake peach blossoms for the cake stall, assisting with the sorting of donated goods for the trash and treasure stall and working tirelessly on fete nights preparing and selling food. Linda is also Gayle Kane’s able assistant as entertainers at the end of year staff parties. Her spirit of fun and friendship always shines brightly, and Holy Spirit School has been well rewarded through the presence of Linda Mayoh.
