Lumberton Youth Association Executive Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Lumberton Municipal Building Attendees: Nicole Norton, President

Reitta send the practice schedule to Nicole prior to sending to the coaches to ensure no conflict of interest
Ø Municipal Fields o
Need to know when officially opened
Ø Uniforms o Rochelle Adams & Nicole to go to All Star Sports in Medford on Thursday, February 12 Ø Release of player from U12 Crush to U13Lightning o Parents of player asked for release o Coach of Crush agreed to release of player to U13 o All contact/paperwork in conjunction with this player release will be handled by Nicole o New Rule/Exact Text to be determined: Players may not move to another team within the club during the season (August 1 – July 31) without first presenting the request to the Board both in writing and in person. Ø Golf Tournament o Nicole distributed estimated cost and profit sheet o Tournament to be held at Ramblewood CC and dinner (Beef & Beer) to be held at Lumberton Fire House on May 30
o Need to devise advertising plan (i.e., Web, brochures, signs, sell tickets at concession stand) o Observations from last year: Need contests at golf tournament, silent auction wrapped up too quickly Ø New Board Member o Doug nominated Bill Curtis to join the Board; Nicole second the motion o Bill’s role will be related to communications/strategic planning/PR o His title is to be determined Ø Board Strategic Planning Session o To Do: Need to schedule 2-3 hour meeting to discuss short-term and long-term goals §

Ideas: Create Lumberton Soccer Day, Community Service Day, Raise money for a cause

Second Beef & Beer in the Fall?
o Bill to draft of one page status report template that will be sent to each coach §
Each coach will present their status report to the Board
Ø Rec Commission S trategic Planning Session o To be held over President’s weekend o Purpose is to prepare for Rec Commission meeting of February 18 o Issue to be discussed: Concession Stand (strategy & tactics) §
Need volunteers from each team

Offer the township % of the profits?
Ø Try-Outs o Two dates: April 19 & 26 o To do: Signs & Location o Ask Dave Dahmer to run??
