April 8, 2017 Dear Sponsor, Mad River Youth Soccer League needs your help now more than ever. This year our operating costs will nearly double due to an increase in field rental costs. We are diligently working many angles in order to keep registration fees down for the hundreds of Humboldt families participating in the rec division of MRYSL. Seeking your donation plays a significant role in this effort. Since 2003 MRYSL has provided 10 weeks of fun, enthusiastic, recreational soccer for youth ages 3-17 in Arcata, McKinlyeyville, Trinidad, Big Lagoon, Blue Lake, Field Brook, Manila, Samoa, Hoopa, Willow Creek and Salyer. Last year this included 750 players and 73 teams. That’s a lot of soccer!! Not only does MRYSL provide active, healthy, fun for players, it provides valuable work experience for Humboldt’s adolescent youth as well. For many of our refs this is their first job and pay check; fostering empowerment, while creating a strong work ethic during this exciting new chapter in their life. Your sponsorship contribution will allow us to continue giving teens in our area a positive and encouraging early work experience. MRYSL is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization and nearly entirely volunteer run (including all 73 coaches for those teams as well as their assistants). It is an enormous community effort with stay at home parents, working professionals, blue collar workers, business owners, students and soccer lovers coming together to give Humboldt children an awesome, athletic, community-building experience. With your donation we can continue to provide quality soccer programs that emphasize fun, fair play, team-building, character-building, and promote self-esteem. Your contribution makes your business a team sponsor and will provide scholarships for players in need, pay referees, and help cover the costs of field rentals and maintenance, and team equipment; including balls, cones, flags, and nets.
