MALAKOFF ISD Superintendent Goals 2017-2018 1. Improve our English I and II EOC results. 2. Improve 7th grade Writing STAAR results. I believe this to be a one year anomaly. Results were also lower throughout the state. 3. We will continue to explore strategies to help our Special Education students be more successful on the STAAR test. 4. District teachers will continue to challenge our students academically, even more than in the past. When we raise the bar of expectations, I believe our students will meet those expectations. 5. The district will continue to move toward Google classrooms. All students and teachers will begin new collaborations using Google Apps and Docs. 6. The district will continue to increase the number of students at Malakoff High School that would be identified college ready by the TEA. This effort will include increasing the number of students taking the ACT/SAT college entrance exam and the TSI exam. The High School will make an effort to have more parental involvement in the college selection process. 7. The district attendance rate will remain over 96% for the 2017-2018 school year. The 2016-2017 attendance rate was 95.9%. 8. The district will begin school to work internship possibilities with our local businesses and those in the surrounding areas. 9. Improve our mentor teacher program to assist our new teachers and those new to the district. 10. All schools will continue to have a safe and orderly environment where students can learn to their greatest potential.
