Conditions of Entry Rider's age to be at the day of competition. Entries in the lead rein class are at the discretion of the DC and those riders must remain on the lead for the whole event. Team members must wear their formal Club uniform. One mount per rider. Minimum age of Ponies/Horses is 5 years old. All riders must attend the presentation at the conclusion of the competition. Teams consist of four (4) riders per category with the best three (3) morning and afternoon scores to count. Additional riders are welcome and will be drafted into a team that has a vacancy in that class, drafted riders will ride in their own club uniform. These riders will remain available to ride for their own club up until the start of the competition. EXTRA CLASS FOR NON DRAFT RIDERS Each Club to nominate an overall manager and class managers whose name and contact details must be included with the entry form as well as one Dressage writer for the morning and one for the afternoon. Gear Inspection Under NZPCA Rules, all competitors must have their gear inspected before the start of the first test. If riders change anything between the morning and afternoon tests they must represent for another inspection. Any rider who fails to get their gear inspected before the start of the competition risk elimination. Any gear inspection issues to be referred back to TD No dogs allowed. All competitors, spectators, personnel and horses enter the grounds at their own risk. The Manawatu West Coast Area together with Horowhenua Pony Club and Kyrewood Equestrian Centre accept no liability. The competition will be run under ESNZ Dressage Rules and annex 6 NZPCA Rules and General Regulations 19.3. Manawatu, Rangitikei and Wanganui-Petrie are to supply at least one person to be the Gear Inspector for all competitors in their specified classes being Classes 1 & 2 for Manawatu, Classes 3 & 4
for Rangitikei and Classes 5 & 6 for Wanganui-Petrie. Gear inspectors please report to the office at least 45 minutes prior to the start time for the first class to ride. ASSISTANCE 7.1 Assistance can only be given at “NZPCA First Start” Level 1 7.1.1 “NZPCA First Start” Level 1 - On Lead Rein a) Lead rein to be attached to a halter fitted under the bridle or a cavesson noseband. Lead may not be attached to the bit b) The leader must always be on the inside of the pony when in an enclosed area/arena and by the pony’s shoulder. Never in front of pony. c) The leader must change sides during halt in middle of dressage test d) The leader may only if necessary assist in controlling the pony. They must give the rider every encouragement to have control. e) The Leader must not carry a whip f) The leader must wear appropriate covered foot wear
