DESIGN andACCESS STATEMENT Theproposedchangesin the levelof the landrequiredto form the poolshasbeen designed in a waythat reflects the topography of the surrounding area.In particular the gradientof the finishedlandformcorresponds to the gradientof the land formingpart of the wider agricultural landscape and the heightof the slopes corresponds with the slopesin the surrounding landscape. The bankswill be sculptedinto the surrounding land and the finishedlevelswill blend into the immediate landscape ratherthan appearing as a alienintrusion(SeeLandscape & Visualappra isal) The surfacetreatmentof the new bankswill providegrass,shruband tree species similarto thosefoundin the surrounding agricultural land(SeeLandscape Plan)

EXISTING USE Thefieldhasbeenusedfor growinga varietyof cropsand is currentlylaiddownto grass

PROPOSED USE It is proposedto constructtwo smallpoolson landthat formspart of the holding in partby woodland knownas ManorHouseFarm.Thepoolsareto be surrounded planting the ancientArdenForestGuidelines. Theproposal that takesinto account seeksto maintainthe opennessof the area and to providea greaterdegreeof protectionandenhancement for the surrounding countryside. The finishedsurfacewater area of the pools is 3535 m2. A singlemown grass pathwaywill encompass usingtraditional the pools.The poolswill be constructed cut and fill methods.Additionalmaterialsthat are requiredto linethe pool and to provideearthworksupportwill be sourcedexternally. Thesourceof thesematerials and other constructionrelated topics are coveredin the ConstructionPhase Management Plan.
