Hooah!!

Noteworthy Cadets

Hey Ya’ll, I hope everyone is doing well with this nice weather and a touch of Spring in the air. It has been a busy month for the leopard Battalion. We put flags out on President’s Day right after we returned from a tough competition in Ft. Smith. The cadets enjoyed Ft. Chaffee. We had a great fundraiser at Larry’s Pizza on Saturday, February 25th. Thanks to the B Co. Team for planning it, and all the Cadets who served. We raised $470.00! This month, we lead off with the NLR Drill Meet. Juniors will be taking the ACT next week; Spring Break is here; and the 2 man Raider teams will be competing at Brookland on April 1st. Don’t forget to buy Dog Tags from a Cadet to support our dog Tag Fundraiser- on sale for $10.00 until February 17th.

From the Colonel: COL (ret) Pat Daniel Senior Army Instructor Well here we are; just a few weeks away from Spring break and half way through the 2nd semester. I am very proud of our Cadets and the Cadet leadership for all that we have accomplished thus far in SY 2016-17. We are right on track to achieve our academic and extracurricular goals for the year. For the first time ever, the Leopard Battalion took 27 Cadets to Ft. Smith for a two day super-meet at Ft. Chaffee and hosted by Ft. Smith Northside High School. We stayed in the barracks at Ft. Chaffee on Friday night. The barracks were clean and nice too. We competed in Drill and Color Guard on Friday and our Armed Drill team commanded by Jacob Weatherford won first place. On Saturday, we had two male teams and one female team competing in Raider Challenge. The ground was wet and muddy in spots. Our cadets were covered in mud and totally exhausted, but they had fun. Everyone experienced a great feeling of accomplishment. Great job! Hooah! Colonel Daniel
