March 29, 2011 Hello Quilters, Just a few more days remain for the Margaret Anderson Art Quilt Exhibit.

MARGARET ANDERSON Art Quilt Exhibit Through March 31, 2011 What an honor it has been to present Margaret’s delicate, silk collages. For Margaret, the collages are all about color, texture and movement. She starts by painting yards of silk chiffon with acrylic paint, then cuts the silk into various shapes and builds her collage on a design wall. The individual pieces are meticulously hand stitched together, and the layered collage is then hand quilted. Although the process is the same for each piece, each wall hanging is a unique work of art full of surprise turns in color and texture.

Upcoming Events We are pleased to present in the Gallery

“A Quilter’s Journey” Quilt Show by EUNICE HILL April 5 through May 1, 2011 Let the storytelling begin as Eunice’s images of people and places in her quilts ask the viewer to imagine the inspiration behind the quilt. Eunice enhances the visual impact by using an assortment of techniques all in one quilt. You will want to linger at each quilt and study just how she did it. Her paper-piecing can especially be subtle sometimes. Eunice comes to us with credentials, and we are honored to have her share her work with all of us. Eunice is a quilt pattern designer, educator, and AQS certified quilt appraiser. She is the recipient of state and national awards and was the 2004 Minnesota Quilter of the Year.
