MARKET REPORT: 11th September 2014 The Blackall combined agents yarded 2672 head at the Fat & Store sale on Thursday. A mixed quality yarding of cattle was presented at Blackall this week with prices remaining firm for Fat cattle. Light weight Bulls up to 450kg topped at 178.2c/kg to average 153.6c/kg. Bullocks topped at 180.2c/kg to average 172.0c/kg. Cows 300 400kg topped at 157.2c/kg to average 108.0c/kg, heavier cows above 500kg topped at 169.2c/kg to average 151.7c/kg. Heavy heifers above 450kg topped at 172.0c/kg to average 164.6c/kg. Store Steers also remained firm with steers 220 - 280kg topping at 210.2c/kg to average 175.1c/kg. Feeder Steers topped at 196.2c/kg to average 173.4c/kg. Store heifers were not as strong this week with light weight heifers up to 220kg topping at 169.2c/kg to average 147.8c/kg. Heavier heifers 350 - 450kg topped at 170.2c/kg to average 146.6c/kg. THE NEXT SALE THAT IS SCHEDULED FOR BLACKALL WILL BE A FAT & STORE SALE ON THE 25TH OF SEPTEMBER.
