Longreach Market Report 12th September 2012 A yarding of 3800 head met a softer market in Longreach this week. A good yarding of heavy bullocks over 600Kg sold to 176c/kg. Limited numbers of feeders this week, selling to 187c/kg. The cow market also had a drop 5-8c. The 520Kg+ cows sold to 142c/kg. Cows 400-520Kg had a sale average of 126c/kg. Heavy fat heifers over 400Kg sold to 161c/kg. A limited yarding of light cattle met a tough market this week. The Brahman types found it tougher than crossbreds. Light Santa steers 200Kg sold to 196c/kg. A classy pen of younger type cows with big calves at foot sold to $790.
