MCBA Trivia Rules

MCBA Trivia Rules 1. Every team will consist of 3 players. (Teams of 2 may be approved based on participation) 2. Each team must have one longstanding and one YLD member. (Subject to change and approval based on participation) 3. The Team Captain is the designated speaker for your team. 4. You will have 8 minutes to complete each round. There will be five rounds, with ten questions each. Questions will be multiple choice, true/false or fill in the blank style. 5. For every correct answer, the team scores 1 point. There are 10 points available per round for a total of 50 points. 6. Do not worry about spelling, but answers must be complete. Answers must be legible to count. 7. When time is up a flag will be waved and an announcement made for pens to be put down and paper turned over. 8. Judges are human and all decisions are final! 9. Use of any reference materials such as cell phones and computers is prohibited. A five point penalty will be deducted from your score if you do. 10. Tie Breaker – Each team will indicate the total number of correct answers their team will score after 5 rounds with a max score of 50 points. Team who guesses closest to their total without going over is the winner. In the event of a tiebreaker tie a coin will be flipped. Heads/tails will be called by the highest ranking MCBA or YLD Board member present. 11. The winning team will be crowned “MCBA Trivia Contest Champion”, will receive the Traveling Trophy, the opportunity to return to defend their title, and most importantly bragging rights!
