Thanksgiving Weekend DUI Deployment Results ___________________________________________________ During the 2014 Thanksgiving weekend, the Marana Police Department deployed officers as part of the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force. The goal of this deployment is to reduce the injuries and deaths associated with impaired drivers by reducing collisions where impairment is a factor. By conducting these deployments, we will be able to increase the awareness of motorists about the dangers of impaired driving, deter those who may be impaired from driving, as well as detect and investigate DUI offenses to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road. DUI Deployment Results:
65 - total traffic stops 9 - DUI Arrests / 8 misdemeanor and 1 felony 1 – person arrested was under 21 years old 0.175 - the average BAC of the people arrested 5 – designated drivers 36 – traffic citations issued 8 – vehicles impounded 0 – DUI related collisions
