RGAA Meeting Minutes – Monday, June 6, 2016 Call to order Drew Boots called the regular meeting of RGAA to order at 8:43 pm on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Pantherette Park pavilion.

Playground o Still need top soil and to plant grass – discuss at July meeting o Playground certified mulch – discuss at July meeting Fence pulling up on front field near softtoss area at front field and near 3rd base side of back field too o Chuck will take a look at fences to make sure they are taken care of o Back field has a hole in the fence in left center Website needs updated sponsor logos Tarping fields

Coffee cans were dropped off Tarps are not sold in the sizes we need. Custom sizes are too costly Chuck asked if rubber roofing would be too heavy  Drew is looking into pricing Pictures were handed out o Minimal issues were directed to Jim Hall – he resolved them all o If we want to do sponsor plaques, he will get team photos printed. Jim Hall does not want RGAA to spend the money to get him a sponsor plaque, so there would be 15 sponsor plaques needed. Lisa will get pricing for sponsor plaques 13-18 tournament o June 24-25-26 o 11 teams o Draw will be on Tuesday, June 21 o Home run derby or skills competition on back field? 8U batgirls? Dunktank? o 13-18 Coaches are required to stay at the tournament regardless of whether of not their team wins. o Need incentive to get volunteers for field maintenance, garbage, and snack shack 8U tournament o Weekend of July 23 o o o







New Business  9-12 tournament o At Stiefel Park the weekend of July 18 o Draw will be either the Tuesday or Thursday prior  Picnic will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 o Awards were discussed  8U participation awards  In the past years, about half of the participation trophies were never picked up.  Medals instead of trophies were discussed  9-12 season and playoff champions  Have always gotten trophies for 1st and 2nd place in both season and playoffs  In 2015, winners were given tshirts – many girls and coaches were unhappy  13-18 season and playoff champions  Have always gotten trophies for 1st and 2nd place in both season and playoffs  In 2015, winners were given tshirts – need to find out what the older girls like  Parking lot issues o Should we get an estimate for clearing more trees/brush to make the lot bigger?  In the past, neighbors complained when trees were cleared as they are a sound/noise barrier  Can fit 4 cars across if people park appropriately  Need a way to keep people from parking right next to dumpster so that people can drive down looking for parking and loop through next to the dumpster and drive back out the other side

 

Drew is going to get a case of spray paint to paint some temporary lines to see if we can help people understand the best way to park.

Golf Outing o Last year was Sept 19 – the youth football bye week, but ended up being the same day as the Eric Zeigler Memorial Golf Outing. This year Zeigler outing is Sept 17 o Valerie to get a date selected so that we can start advertising to members and to start soliciting hole sponsors and players.

Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 11, 2016 at 8:30pm at the pavilion at Pantherette Park.
